Asian Wire and Cable Industry Cooperation Organization

Recently, the AWCCA 2023 Presidium Meeting and related activities, hosted by Shanghai Cable Research Institute Co., Ltd., the Chairman and Secretariat of the Asian Wire and Cable Industry Cooperation Organization (AWCCA), were successfully held in Shanghai.

More than 50 representatives from all founding members of AWCCA, including CEEIA-ECWB, APKABEL, MCMA, HECA, TEWCA, and JSC VNIIKP, attended the event.

This meeting is the 10th Presidium Meeting of AWCCA since its official establishment in 2012. According to the AWCCA Charter, through the vote of the presidium composed of all founding members, Mr. Jiang Bin, Chairman of the Wire and Cable Branch of the China Electrical Industry Association, Executive Director, General Manager, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai Cable Research Institute Co., Ltd., was unanimously elected as the new Chairman of AWCCA.

In his speech, Mr. Jiang warmly welcomed the attending representatives of the cable industry experts, thanked the Presidium and members for their trust and support, and proposed work suggestions for future AWCCA in trade docking, smooth industrial/supply chain, technological innovation cooperation, regional and international standardization cooperation, technical exchange, and skilled talent training. The meeting also focused on the current development status of the local cable industry among member countries, the opportunities and challenges faced by cable enterprises, as well as topics such as low-carbon and energy-saving innovative products for power cables, progress in Chinese wind power technology and standardization, copper resources, and the power cable market.
